Halloween is tomorrow! Supposed to be mild but rainy so I think I will take the car since the hills here are STEEP! I am getting a cold so I want to try and not aggravate it to make it worse. Hate being sick. My son is excited for tomorrow. We have several places to visit during the day tomorrow to show off his costume. We will be prepared for massive candy haul.
Today I have a Halloween image to showcase!
Watercolor Black Cat
Digitally altered image, original was way too pixelated so need to tweak it a bit.
I have the body done of the spider, just have to sew the harness on. I added some more "scary" upgrades. I added a shiny skull to the back of the hoodie. Just have to paint lightly around it so it will pop. Going to get black pants today and I will be done!!!! Pictures to follow.
I have the body of the spider covered in black felt, hand sewn, all by hand. Next is to add a shiny fabric my son likes to the body of the spider to make it look spooky. Then construct the harness and then I am almost done. I need to get black pants for him and then picture time. Boy my hands hurt but I want it done today but I have a feeling I will be adding claw like ends to the spider legs!
Well I have another vintage bird print to showcase today. Will get back to artwork once I finish the costume.
Literally I am heading for the door. We are going to get the fabric for the spider body. I have it constructed. All it needs is the covering. That is my focus for the day. Once the costume is done my mind will be back into working on designs. I need to have the costume done by Saturday for a parade, another the Monday after and possibly one on the 30th and what ever events I can find too.
So far I got the body of the spider drawn up to scale, cardboard ready for cutting, the hoodie is pinned marked and ready for spider parts and eyes. I will see what I can get done today. I know I can get the head done. I am still trying to plan on how to "stuff" and cover the spider body. I will figure it out!
I like this design showcase today....
I like this illustration, brightened the colors and added a fun background. One of my favorites.
Well today is the start of my son's costume construction. I have long spider legs, short spider legs, cardboard, felt, duct tape, hoodie shirt and various paints.....lets see what we can come up with! Thinking this is going to be an interesting build....I will post pics when finished.
Today I have another bird print in my 14 image series!
Vintage Blue Macaw
Some color correction, and ta-da!
Yes taco Tuesday today because that is my son's favorite! He did so well yesterday with his letters v - w - x and will finish his workbook the next session. He is picking up reading so fast and excited to learn!
Today I have the final sulky racing picture of the three image set.
Vintage Sulky Horse Racing
Another cool image! I like the aging on this print.
What a weekend, nice weather for October. Got the car washed, vacuumed and detailed (by me). Built some dinosaurs and started working on my son's Halloween costume. Of course he wants to be the scariest spider I can make him and they don't make scary spider toddler costumes so making from scratch. I got the legs and the black hooded sweatshirt. Need to construct the body and face. Need to have it soon, Halloween parade coming up!
Today a vintage match label to showcase.
Solo Sailing Ship Match Label
Nice label, just needed color correction.
Homemade pizza night tonight. I make a bunch, four large gluten free pies. We will be set for the weekend. I use Bob's Red Mill gluten free pizza crust. My method I get four large pies out of one bag (says only one on package!) I make thin crust so after all the toppings etc, it ends up to be a low calorie yummy pizza! Also number and math day for my son! He is breezing through his second workbook. His last workbook ended at number 12, this one goes up to 20. He loves it and we go at a pace that he enjoys.
Another parrot image from my bird series, they are quite cute!
Vintage Red Macaw
Not much repair on this image, just color correction. Enjoy your weekend and will be back on Monday!
Okay, I have been very diligent in saving my computer projects and turning off the computer every night. I have lost a lot of work either not saving or trouble overnight like last night. I was working on a holiday image and let my one computer program process it. It was late and it was going to take some time so I thought I would check in morning. Well out of all the nights that I picked to leave the computer on was the one night Windows did an update and restarted my computer and caused me to lose all my work...sigh. Now to start over and never (well I will try to never) do that again.
Today is the second sulky racer, I showed you one yesterday, one today and the last one will come soon!
Vintage Sulky Horse Racing
Just some small repairs and color correction!
Got the sweaters and long sleeve shirts out, packed away the summer clothes....where is the chilly weather, windy days and piles of leaves? Maybe after today. We are supposed to get rain and storms later and some slightly cooler weather. I am ready for the chill. It is time to take the A/C out of the windows!
Today is alphabet day for preschool, we are on R S and T. Exciting, almost finished with the first workbook, then on to another! My son is doing so well. Reading words like mad. Our goal is for him to be able to read a small book by Christmas. I think he may be at that point much earlier.
Got another bird print from the series I started.
Vintage Parakeet Print
Just a bit of tweaking this image and it was ready! Cute vintage birdie!
More math and numbers today for my son! He is doing so well, even writing his own math problems for me to solve. Another warm day though out west they are gearing up for possible 2 feet of snow! Looks like our warm spell is going to last for awhile. Nice and warm this weekend!
Did three new designs yesterday and need to upload them, I have a vintage squirrel print today. Enjoy the weekend and see you all Monday!
Vintage Squirrel Print
Some color correction and a bit of repair but not much to make this print pop!
From my window I can see blazing reds, oranges and yellows of the leaves. It is so pretty and being a bit cloudy this morning makes the colors even more brighter. Hello October! Plus this week is going to be nice so grilling outside! But also need to start getting ready for the cold weather, cleaning the radiators and making sure blankets are fresh and ready for the chilly weather cause it is coming fast!
Another pretty bird from the seriers I am working on.
Vintage Green Parrot Pring
Color adjustment and some edge repair and voila!
