Wednesday already!

Wow has the month been moving by! Ankle still hurts, going to try and get some light walking in today dodging the rain drops!
Today I have a duck, a cute vintage image I did some minor repairs on.

What goes up must come down....

It has been hot, muggy. We had a guest for two weeks, splashed in the pool and enjoyed the company. Then on the 4th of July, happily doing my step aerobics in the morning, it happened. Occasionally, every so often, my ankle gives out. They are very loose in the joints and usually I am just standing still when BAM! I am on the floor. This time I was stepping down from an 8" step when my lovely ankle said..."it is time to collapse" so down I went, all of me. Cringing at the snap and then hot pain. NOOOOO I said and grunted through 4 rounds of saying my "ABC's" in case my son came in to see what happened. I got up finished the 3 minutes left of my routine and then watched the ankle swell and remain swollen for the past week. Looks about normal now but not quite back down to size. Hurts. Did a 30 minute exercise routine this morning, none since the 4th, and it aches. I feel down if I don't get my exercise in. I have lost over 134 lbs on my own, no surgery or drastic diets/exercise. Just low impact most days with some moderate impact at least twice a week. Hopefully my routine will start back soon, I know I need to let my ankle heal but of course I will test/push/over do it....

OH! I had a corelle plate shatter all over me this morning too! What a day already, thought the dishwasher door fell off because of the bang. It was sitting on the shelf in the cupboard too! What a mess. So today's showcase design is about how I think I felt the past few days, peg leg and all!

I didn't think I could do it but I did!!!

Ok, a few months ago I dropped my laptop and smashed the screen. I have been using it as a desktop hooked to a monitor and such since then but missed the portability of my laptop. Especially being to able to work on projects and watch my son as he plays. I looked into replacing the LCD screen panel and it was reasonably priced but happened upon an Ebay auction for the whole screen unit at an incredible price so I went for it. Arrived so fast and I looked it and said, I CAN DO THIS! Well after unscrewing 20 screws, disconnecting tiny ( I mean tiny! ) connections, removing the hard drive, prying up the keyboard (ahhh) I looked at the shell of my laptop and gasped...what have I gotten myself into! Well I took lots of pictures while disassembling and that came in handy when adding the new screen. Knocked over my cup of screws and searched high and low for them all. Had to slightly bend the motherboard in order to detach a clip, O MY was that scary. I felt like a surgeon. I didn't think I would get my computer running again. Of course I made a backup but still, I would be lost. I reinstalled all the connections, screws etc and took a deep breath....pressed the power button.....Ta Da, the windows start screen appeared on my display! I cried, tears of joy that someone who really doesn't have a solid computer "hardware" background actually got it to work! Now mind you it has only been a few hours and I am still testing out the screen but come on, this is awesome! I am so energized right now. I know that just this small victory and now reclaimed portability will help me move forward not just with my artwork but in life. Now just not to ever, ever drop my laptop again (or spill hot tea in it like I did a year ago!). Enjoy your Thursday and take pride in the small victories you accomplish today!

It is HOT and I am burnt...

I am sunburned, a bit on my legs. Thought I would get some color but not liking the red! Nice weekend, wish they all were that way through the summer, weather was beautiful!

Back Again..

Hello, again. Had some health issues and had some tests done, all ok so far just need to do more follow up tests. That had me worried for a while but did not stop me working on new designs, just didn't post on here. I kept to myself while recovering from one of the tests, it hurt but worth it to rule out anything bad. So far so good!

I am happy with the sales I have been getting, new ideas are popping up in my head.

I love this design below. It is so cute, had to do color correction and some damage repair to bring this vintage image to life. I think I am going to get me a plate with this image on it and hang it on the wall.
