Just my luck.

I had some time yesterday to do some Zazzle.  I decided to break up my uploads so it is smaller and I don't lose everything when something goes wrong.  I got one part uploaded...yea!!  Then I tried the next and there was a problem with the site so I did not get my one image finished.

Today I am at the school so I will not have too much time to finish.  Then my son is off for the rest of the week.  We shall see what I get done!

Only two days of school this week then spring vacation.  I will be helping out the at the school tomorrow. Then comes a few days of spending time with my son so only two posts this week. I am off to get the little one breakfast, he is hungry and get this day started!

Oh My!!

I didn't post yesterday and am I late today or what!!!  I was spring cleaning yesterday.  Everything in my room has been aired out, washed, vacuumed, wiped down, polished and put back.  I totally forgot about posting.  But now both my son's room and my room are ready for the spring.

I have been selling nicely on Zazzle.  Business cards seem to be in demand.  I think I will try and get something on today.  Even if it is a partial upload and finish other products later.  I got to keep the creativity going!

Going to be an Egg-celent Day!

Today I am filling plastic eggs for an egg hunt.  My son's class will be having a Spring Celebration next week.  He is super excited. I am also starting to price items for the yard sale.  There are so much items, it will take a month to price everything!  The yard sale is a big deal around here.  We have had people come every year and it is there favorite yard sale!

My son got me an easel and paints for my birthday.  I can not wait to get some painting in too!  I have been doing well on zazzle even though I haven't posted anything new.  The days just seem to go by too fast, too many things going on.  Got to change that. 

A day to recover...

Ate so much on Sunday, needed a day to recover.  Plus my son caught a cold and I am getting it too.  This was my cake.

It was delicious.  I tried making roses on the top. Ate too much pizza too! 

Ready to tackle the day today.  Loads of laundry, errands for school supplies, bills, projects etc.  Going to be a busy day.  All while nursing a slight head cold. You know it is yard sale prep time....

Cake Time!

My birthday is on Sunday but starting my cake today. Bake the layers, tomorrow ice it and refrigerate until Sunday!  I make a pudding icing and if it sits for 24 hours it is even more delicious! I also want to wish my brother a Happy Birthday today!
Our birthdays are 3 days apart and we always compromised on cakes, his chocolate and mine vanilla!

Snowing already.  School has started but have a feeling they will dismiss early and my son won't have school.  We are on watch now.

Taco Thursday

Today I am to make tacos,  per my son's request. He loves tacos!

Got my taxes done but did not get my errands done. Today I have those and some additional errands too. Then snow tomorrow!!! What? Yes, we will see what happens!

Wind was wicked yesterday.  Out of the blue gust came roaring in.  Thought something hit the house be no evidence of anything. Maybe creaking in the wind! 

I have been selling quite a bit of business cards lately.  I like that! I hope one day I actually see one of my designs on a business card on my travels.  That would be awesome!  Still getting ready for the yard sale.  I have my closet yet to scavenge.  I know I will find quite a bit hidden in the depths!  The clothes already have been sorted and picked through, the boxes in the back have not.  That will be an undertaking!

Today I am working on taxes.  Got to get that done even though I know the outcome, payment to be sent out. *sigh*  Then I have some errands to run.  All within 3hrs while my son is at school.  I will be zooming around!!

A difference a day makes!

After such an interesting weekend, yesterday turned out to be promising.  I found a job posting that is just up my alley. Even though I would love Zazzle to become a main source of income, I don't think it will in the time that I need it to.  Maybe as I grow my products but I do need work and this job fits the bill.  Trying not to get my hopes up but needed something to look forward to after such a tough weekend. It is even got my family excited and they need a distraction now as well.

Happy St Patrick's Day!  Will be baking some Irish soda bread soon.  My son will be all in green today, he is a little Irish you know!

I am going to keep good thoughts all day!

What a weekend!

Wow, the Ides of March were very interesting.  I can't believe how much bad luck has happened over the weekend to friends, family and myself.  Some little things some big things.  I have those in my prayers who had life changing events happen. I am thankful no one was seriously hurt but still some events can alter your path in life. We must realize that everything will work out and sometimes we have to go through bumps in the road to appreciate the good times.  It is a moment to be thankful for what we have, our family, friends, our health and know we will be okay. 

I will try and post everyday but may be needed elsewhere to help out some family issues.  It can be draining when so much happens at once.  Me, well just some small hiccups, but added to the worry of everyone else they feel like part of a big bad luck spree. Everything will be fine, may not go they way we want but it will be fine.

Friday the 13th!

One of my favorite days of the year!  Good luck all day long.  I spent yesterday moving furniture, packing boxes and going through more items and picking out yard sale items. I did not get to the hardware store yesterday so I will try today. My son has nice die cast cars and I want them displayed on shelving so he can play with them but then they are a decoration afterwords.  I don't want them to break.  They are really cool.   He is thrilled with his room now.  It has transformed from a toddler-ish room to a boys room. 

It is gluten free fish stick night!  First time we are trying the brand Ian's.  I hope they are good! I have been snapping some picture of wildlife when I can.  I have a few canvases stored away and I have a feeling I am getting an easel and more paints for my birthday, think I will be able to paint some interesting things!

New Zazzle items will be coming soon, I promise.  I will get one on next week. I have been selling nicely so that is a big boost to get me back in the game!

Thursday

This is the wacky hair I did yesterday...

I did put some pink dots in his hair after this shot.  He had two different socks of mine, stripe jammie pants and a cat in the hat on his shirt.  He loved it and so did his friends!

I built a dvd cabinet last night so today I will sort and put my son's dvds in his new holder.  Then disassemble and remove an old tv cabinet stand that is in his room now.  That will give him much more room to play. I hope to make a trip to the hardware store to get some shelving for his wall.  I want to finish his room updating before I move to other projects. We have this big yard sale coming up....and we have a cellar full of stuff ready to price.  I am filling another box just by going through my office drawers, haven't hit the closet yet.  It is nice to clear out old things and have space! 

Crazy Day!

It is Wacky Wednesday in school today, postponed from last week, and I am on duty to make my son look wacky.  He wants a faux hawk with his real hair so that is my challenge this morning. I already have a wacky shirt, sewed a cat in the hat stuffy to it.  He has crazy colored pants and will add some color to his hair.  I am also expecting a delivery today.  If it comes early enough I can built it, a DVD cabinet, and have it filled with my son's movies. I have an appointment this afternoon and hoping it is quick.

Since I haven't had a chance to work on artwork, I have been writing down my ideas so I do not forget them.  There are some nice pictures I took that I would love to get on Zazzle also.  Wish I was more organized with my time.  I will get there, never give up!  Oh, I also have to get my taxes done...That will be this weekend. Then birthdays are coming up (my brothers and mine) and Easter.  Wow, busy busy!!

Yesterday was interesting...

All was going well yesterday.  I thought my son didn't quite look right and asked him several times if he felt okay.  He said "Yes I am fine mommy" so just as we were getting ready to head to the bus stop he says, "I feel sea sick." Well then he got sick all over.  He stayed home from school. Poor guy.  He bounced back by the evening and if all is well today he will go to school.  Think it was a 24 hour thing.  I felt a little woozy yesterday too.  Today is crazy hat day and he really wants to go, he has a pirate hat to wear!

So I did not get anything done I wanted to yesterday.  Try and catch up today.  At least it was sunny and nice yesterday, today cloudy.  Tomorrow will be sunny and maybe in the 50's!  I might be able to get a walk outside in.  That was one of my resolutions for the year was to get back walking.  Weather put a damper on that so far.

I have been taking some nice photos of the wildlife in our yard.  I am hoping to get some artwork made from them.  Once things get back to normal (like that will happen) or at least somewhat normal!!

Sunshine and slightly warmer!

We are going to be in the mid 40's today!  Wow.  What a change.  I will predict that school will be on normal schedule all week. Since school was closed three days last week they moved the Dr Seuss week to this week so I have so silly outfits and pj day coming up.

I did get my gluten free pizzas made Friday. First time making a broccoli pizza.  It was good!

Got some errands today and almost done with my son's room, organizing and making piles for the yard sale.  All I have to do is wait for a DVD cabinet to be delivered and I can get his movies organized and move a piece of old furniture out and he will be set.  Then it is my room next.  That puts a delay in my artwork but it is only once a year for our super mega yard sale! 

A regular school day? Amazing!!

No delays, regular day for my son.  He has had three days off in a row.  Nice to get back to a normal schedule, even for just a day.

Off topic, I have always struggled with dry skin, sensitive skin etc. Because I have a severe sensitivity to gluten, I can't use moisturizers with oat, wheat and some other products.  The ones that I can use really do nothing.  I have been hearing things about pure coconut oil and how that helps your skin.  I didn't want to try it because I am not fond of coconut.  I have tried in the past to give it a fair chance but I don't like the taste and not to fond of the smell.  After seeing the red patches on my face and the dry flaky areas around my nose and using so much concealer to try and hide it, I broke down and bought a jar of coconut oil. Well, OMG!!  I don't normally go crazy for something but the coconut oil is amazing!  I have used it for three weeks so far.  I originally said, "I will give it a month and if nothing happens then I will just have to live with my skin". In two days there was a drastic reduction in the redness on my face and in less then a week I no longer need concealer, even under my eyes!  My eyes had somewhat dark circles under them. They are gone.  The redness that was around my nose and up parts of my cheeks are gone.  I no longer have flaky skin around the nose.  I can go without makeup *gasp*. Just some eyeliner and mascara.  That is amazing!  I can't remember when that was even possible in the past. This is a link to the brand I bought at Amazon.  If you tried everything but nothing works I would recommend giving this a try.  I use it before bed and when I wake up.  The nice thing is that it's one ingredient, no chemicals or preservatives and really is inexpensive. A little goes a long way.

Ok, now back on topic.  I have two gluten free pizzas to make today, one broccoli and one cheese.  The laundry monster has struck again so will be living in the laundry room this morning.  I also have to make a green colored snack for my son today for "Green eggs and ham" book reading.  I also have some really nice photos of birds I took a few weeks ago.  I think I might try posting on my other Zazzle store that I set up for my photography.

No School

Look what we found while outside yesterday. A beautiful hawk!

Another no school day. My son already has made plans for me. Apparently we will be sleigh riding and watching movies.  I am so sore from sledding yesterday. 

Whoa Weather! ** Update!

Well school let out early yesterday which meant my son did not have school yesterday.  He was thrilled and begged for me to sleigh ride with him.  So for a few hours we sledded down the yard.  I am sure feeling it today!  He really enjoyed it and you know what, so did I!

Needless to say I did not get any zazzle done, did make a few sales though. I think the best thing to do is go with the flow. I will be a lot more relaxed if I do and not stressing myself out.

I have a feeling that there will be a delay for school today.  It is Dr Seuss week and today it is dress wacky day.  I have to give my son a faux hawk, dress him in wacky clothes, already sewed a Cat in the Hat stuffy to a shirt and give him a cat nose.  Should be fun!  Now the evening is a different story.  There are several scenarios of weather reported, a couple of inches, over a foot or nothing....we shall see.

I did clear a lot of items out of the upstairs down to the staging area of yard sale items.  I can't wait.  It is a long and tough day but worth it!

** School Closed for the day. Still have significant ice on roadways. All my plans have changed. Looks like just a bit of snow tonight. Is spring going to show up?

More wild weather on the way!

We are in for some interesting weather this afternoon.  May not have school.  If the school decides to let out early then my son will not have afternoon kindergarten.  We will see. I have been packing items for the yard sale.  I got several boxes out of my son's room.  He is transitioning into more child toys then toddler so we will have a bunch for the yard sale.  He has way too many toys. My son has his sights on something already to buy from his yard sale profits.

I did not get to zazzle yesterday.  After getting my son off to school and tackling only a portion of his room, the day just got away from me.  If he has school tomorrow then definitely I will be able to get to some zazzling. This is a tough time, our yard sale is a big deal in the neighborhood so we like to be ready and start almost two months ahead of time to get ready. The road in front of the house and the side streets are usually packed with cars!!

Another Delayed School Day Today.

We got at least 5 inches of snow. It is still flurrying outside. We are getting more snow tomorrow afternoon and I believe on Thursday as well.  March is coming in like a lion!  My son loves it!

Well today I plan on doing small uploads of my new zazzle image.  Instead of one big one I will do it in pieces.  Hopefully I can get this one image done!  I have been selling nicely.  I recently sold 450 keychains!  I was so surprised and happy! 

I am also starting to gather and price items for our yard sale.  I know it is 2 months away but we have so much stuff that if we don't start now then we will be struggling and stressing out when the time comes.  We are getting a following for our yard sales, I believe it is our 4th year in a row!!
